The Glory Bishop Series needs to be audio books. Please help me make it happen!

I have officially launched the campaign to raise the funds to release Glory Bishop, Glory Unbound, and Mary Not Broken as audio books. Donors and backers have the option to receive lots of thank you gifts from my undying gratitude, to eBooks and bookmarks and swag and paperbacks, and even the audio books themselves.
It’s Been 3 Years… Why Now?
Readers have been requesting audio books since the release of Glory Bishop in 2019. My small press publisher worked hard to make it happen, but ultimately was unsuccessful. This year, the audio book rights reverted back to me, so now I’m determined to release the series as audio books in 2023.
Yes, I did consider recording the series myself. I took an editing class and spent a week in a studio recording Glory Bishop. I stood in that sound booth yelling and screaming and flailing my arms every day for 6 days. When I was done, my throat was raw, and my feet and back were reminding me of my folly.
And then I listened to it. OMG! I learned a lot about myself in that process.
- There’s no way for me to comfortably stand for hours on end.
- I breathe a lot louder than I thought.
- I am not a voice actor.
- I suck at audio book narration.
- I should stick to writing. Stay in my lane.
- Voice actors and audio book narrators are true professionals.
So, I backed off of that bad idea and began my narrator search in earnest. The biggest challenge was finding a good narrator within my budget. I think I’ve found her. She has 8 years of experience and a beautiful clear tone. She gets the characters and understands the story, and her fees are something I think I can raise. I really hope I get a chance to work with her.
