Today, Mommi would have been 72 years old.
Every year since 2006, we’ve celebrated her birthday as Phenomenal Woman Day. We acknowledge and celebrate the women in our lives, and phenomenal women everywhere.
I’ve written about my mother before, in another blog, so I won’t revisit that. Suffice it to say Mommi instilled in me the concept of phenomenal. Even in the lowest depths of my depression, Mommi held my head up when I couldn’t do it for myself. I am phenomenal because she was.
